Erin Bridges gets excited about holding Headwaters.
Headwaters is UNCA’s annual creative arts magazine. Every spring since 1929 it has showcased a years worth of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and art from not only UNCA’s talented faculty, staff, and study body, but also from members of the community.
Every year Headwaters gives out three major Creative Arts awards: The Thomas Wolfe award (fiction), The Wilma Dykeman Award (non-fiction), and The Carl Sandburg Award (poetry.) The first place winner in each category receives a cash award of $100 and is honored at various UNC-Asheville sponsored events.
